The Quintessential Gemini – LINN B HALTON

The Quintessential Gemini is the latest novel by Linn B Halton

For twenty-one years, the focus of Katherine Dale’s life has been her work. Love interests and hobbies came and went, but what has always been there for her—her only constant other than her cat delightfully named No. 4—was her nine to five habit. Until she’s replaced.
With her confidence dented, Katherine is angry at life and at herself.

She’s ignored hints of “changes to come” in her horoscope forecasts, written by the wonderful and renowned astrologer, Mark Ainsley-Thomas.

Mark is now an “A” list celebrity in the UK and his new Agent is determined to raise his profile in America, so he has to take on the new, but talented, astrologer James Kingman to help him run his web-site.

Katherine lives her life according to her daily horoscope. When Katherine finds James has been writing her daily horoscopes rather than Mark, Katherine’s life explodes in confusion and, unexpectedly, love as the three lives become inextricably tangled.  Insecurity, self-doubt, guilt, stress, and frustration, coupled with village gossips and merciless reporters wanting eye-catching headlines leave Katherine feeling vulnerable and in need of guidance.

Now Katherine has to learn that the stars might be telling her that love is going to feature in her life, but when Katherine finds herself implicated in the headlines ‘Mystic Love Triangle Surprise’ she’s just as surprised as everyone else! None of the men in her life are love interests – so what exactly does fate have in store?

I sometimes find it hard to write a review for Authors that I know very well, I worry if I feel I can’t give it 5* as I don’t want to hurt their feelings and then I worry if i do give 5* as I would hate people to think it is only because I know them. All I can do is be honest, I write my reviews from my heart and hope each Author understands that my views may not be the same as others, we all have different tastes.

That brings me to my review for The Quintessential Gemini, I absolutely loved it. It’s funny with laugh out loud pieces, sadly we are laughing at Katherine most of the time not with her! Lovely emotions and insecurities of the characters so beautifully written. What I loved most about it is that there are not loads of characters flitting in and out but instead there are a core 3 leads with a handful of people at the sides to help the story develop. Each chapter is written from either Katherine, Mark or James’s point of view but it works perfectly and they are all extremely likeable and real which to me is so important. It is hard to enjoy a book if you can’t understand the leads or disagree with their points of view.  I particularly loved the chapter names, they fitted perfectly and hooked you with just those few words that tease you so you want to know what would happen next!

To me Linn’s writing style is more like a friend sat on a sofa next to you telling you the story than words on a page – captivating!

Whilst I was reading this story, I could so easily imagine this could be a movie I would watch at the cinema as it’s young and fresh. A truly fabulous, fun and enjoyable read that you’ll want to finish in a single sitting. I was disappointed when I had reached the last line, not for anyother reason than I didn’t want it to end, that’s a sure sign I enjoyed it!

Thank you so much Linn and Sapphire Publishing for sending me a copy of this book – I wish you lots of success with it as it really does deserve the praise I am certain it will receive.
