I’m delighted to say that I am sitting with George Fraser and Quinn Blake and they have agreed to give me an exclusive interview.
Thank you both for meeting me. I want to get to know you guys a little better if that’s ok? George you are looking very toned and bronzed in your customary black and white work outfit. Quinn, you look gorgeous as always in your jeans and Strings Attached t-shirt
George, you successfully run your own catering business called Finger Food. What made you set up the business and what other options of names did you come up with?
GF – (laughs) I did come up with a few other names actually but they weren’t that good! At first I thought along the lines of ‘Food of Fraser’ but decided it sounded too much like House of Fraser. Then I considered ‘Fraser Foods’ but it just didn’t feel right. We do food you can eat with your fingers so ‘Finger Food’. It says what we do and that’s important when it comes to marketing the business.
QB – I like Food of Fraser – that sounds cool.
GF – Yeah but Finger Food is punchier isn’t it? Michael thinks so!
Oooo minor spat! So, tell me a little about the people that work with you. I can see your brother Adam, Curly Shirley, Helen and Welsh Marisa over in the kitchen behind us. What would they hate people to know about them!!
GF – Marisa would hate for me to tell you that she actually came to work this morning in six inch heels and Helen (her mother) made her take them off. She’s wearing a pair of my boots now and hasn’t stopped moaning about it for a second. Adam would hate for me to tell you that he has a crush on Marisa and Helen would hate for me to tell you that her hands swell up when she carries shopping bags. Curly Shirley won’t care what I tell you as long as somewhere along the line she gets a date out of it.
Quinn, you are an international rock star – what first brought you to the UK?
QB – I thought it was about time theUKrock fans got a flavour of my music. I haven’t toured outside of theUSyet but there’s been a lot of interest this side of the pond and all venues are already sold out which is amazing.
I bet you have met some amazing celebrities in your time. Who was the best and why?
QB That’s a toughy but I’m going to have to go with the actor Nicholas Kaden (Excess All Areas). He’s doing some amazing charity work right now and that’s what being in the spotlight is all about. I’m hoping to start a Quinn Blake music academy some day where people with talent can learn how to grow and develop their natural ability.
Which musician inspired you to become a singer?
QB Wow, that’s a good question. If you’re asking who inspires me I’d have to say Bryan Adams. He’s been at the top of his genre for four decades and still fills stadiums. That’s something I aspire to, definitely.
Is it true Quinn that you are often seen flying about the UK in a helicopter. Do you hold your own licence or have a pilot?
QB I don’t have a licence to fly but I should shouldn’t I? I have a great pilot called Ian who gets me where I need to be when I need to be there. I should arrange some flying lessons though that would be cool.
I would like to get a bit personal now if you don’t mind. (Michael your PA Quinn said it would be ok!!) Tell me how you two met?
QB We met just the other night actually.
GF I offered him some canapés.
QB From an empty tray.
GF Finger Food is an extremely professional catering company.
QB With a hot MD
GF You can’t say that in an interview
QB This is only going out in theUKisn’t it?
What’s next for you both?
GF Finger Food are catering all of Quinn Blake’s after-show parties inBasingstokeand we have functions lined up for the rest of the year and through into 2012.
QB I’m sure I can swing some more parties your way.
GF That would be good.
QB Yes it would…sorry Lou, distracted. Me and the band are headed toManchesternext and then Glasgow, then we’re returning to theUSfor a couple of dates back there.
I know you both love your music, I just wanted to know if you had ever heard of the new You Tube phenomenon that is Mandy Baggot? She is an amazing author of four books currently available, but also a fabulous singer. Have you seen her?
She has an amazing voice and I can’t believe The X Factor turned her down for the live shows. She should come to theUSand try out forAmerica’s Got Talent because she does have talent – by the truck load.
GF I love her voice too. I only wish she would teach Marisa to sing properly. I’d like to hear her try some Billy Idol.
Thank you both so much for your time. It has been wonderful to meet you.
